This newsletter comes with a considerable delay. 4 months have passed since the last one and there was more than one occasion in which I felt “I have to” write.
But my lesson for this summer was to question my “I have to”s.
I am sure most of you know this voice that puts into your mind all you “have to” do. It is an ongoing voice and it is very easy to fall under its spell. A part of this spell is tied to the expectations of others. However, the biggest part is tied to the expectations of ourselves or the expectations we think that others have of us.
So whenever I felt that I “had to” write the next newsletter I simply stopped. I did not want to write it because you expected it from me or because I expected myself to write a newsletter every month or because I thought you might expect it. I simply wanted to wait until it came naturally. And here I am today – happy to share these thoughts with you.
When we hear the words “I have to ….” and we disobey – what happens? Maybe feelings of guilt come up? Maybe fear of the consequences? Fear of being judged, excluded, being talked about badly? Fear of not being good enough, not reaching the goals we have set? Fear of not being accepted or loved any more if we don’t perform in the “usual” way.
How many “I have to”s are there in your life? And how many of them are really necessary, if you are honest with yourself? How many “I have to”s are keeping you from spending precious time with your partners, children, friends, or with yourself?
Due to my experience a big percentage of the “I have to”s usually can wait until the next day – but the chance to experience close and intimate moments with dear people or to come to rest with ourselves often passes quickly if we do not seize it.
The replacement of only some of the “I have to”s with “I want to”s a day can do miracles and have a life changing effect. Try it out!
This thought builds the bridge to what I want to do for you. I want to be there when you want a support in any kind of life issues. And I want to be there with my 1to1 sessions, my constellation work and workshops, because that is what I love doing.
So in these few months that are still left of 2017 – what is on the schedule?
- The next Family Constellation Day is on September 24th. If you want to experience what it means to be a representative, join us and register.
- A wonderful 2 1/2 days workshop will take place on October 1 (whole day), 6 (evening) and 7(whole day). “Heal your heart by healing your relationships” – a great opportunity for all participants. This workshop will be facilitated by both, my teacher and dear friend Konrad Pinegger and myself. Spaces are limited since we want you to really benefit of this special event.
- Another Genogram Workshop (the 4th one already) starting on October 10th will be announced shortly on Facebook. As always there are only 8 spaces, so the sooner you register, the safer your space.
